“Having a strong sense of controlling one’s life is a more dependable predictor of positive feelings of well-being than any of the objective conditions of life we have considered.” – Angus Campbell

When we travel in a car, we have options. We can sit in the driver’s seat, grasp the steering wheel and guide the car’s movements to our chosen destination. Or we can sit in a more passive role in the passenger’s seat or back seat and let the driver set the course. Moving through life is a bit like that too. We can take a more active role in directing and controlling our life path or give up our power and play a supporting role to someone else’s vision and dreams.

Do you tend to be an active agent OR a passive victim?
